Routle is a geography route-guessing game. It has no user accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. The single-player game works fully offline and collects nothing about you. The only time any data leaves your device is when you choose to use the optional "Play with Friends" multiplayer mode, described in section 3.
The app stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's standard local storage:
This data never leaves your device except as described in section 3. Deleting the app removes it.
You can share a route link with a friend (for example a link a friend sends you). Such a link contains only two ISO country codes (e.g. "FR-GA") and, optionally, your score for that route โ no personal information.
If โ and only if โ you create or join a multiplayer room, the app sends the following to our database provider (Supabase) so that players in the same room can play together in real time:
This data is not linked to your identity, is never used for tracking or advertising, and is used solely to run the multiplayer game. Rooms are temporary and are automatically deleted within a few hours. We do not sell or share this data with anyone. If you never use multiplayer, none of this data is ever sent.
Routle is safe for all ages. It collects no personal data, has no accounts, and the optional multiplayer data is anonymous and not linked to any identity, in line with children's privacy regulations (e.g. COPPA, GDPR-K).
Country borders use Natural Earth data (public domain). Country names use the Unicode CLDR dataset. Routle is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any other geography game.
